David Goyer Sells SF Triology to Warner

HeavenDeadline.com reports that David S. Goyer (THE DARK KNIGHT) has sold Warner Brothers the film rights to a series of science fiction novels  he is still currently writing.

The writer, also working on Warner’s upcoming MAN OF STEEL Supeman reboot, is in the process of completing the first book in a projected trilogy of novels. has acquired film rights to a science fiction trilogy that David Goyer is writing with Michael Cassutt, (THE TWILIGHT ZONE, OUTER LIMITS), who’s also author the SF novel The Star Country and the space-race thriller Red Moon.

David S.  Goyer will write the screen adaptation of  Heaven’s Shadow, the first of the three books,  which is scheduled to be published in July, 2011 Ace Books, an imprint of Penguin-Putnam.

Heaven’s Shadow begins with the common theme of the detection of an object headed towards Earth, and the discovery of by a team of astronauts sent to deal with what they assume is a “breakaway meteor”.  They discover instead an alien threat to the safety of the world.

Sequel novels Heaven’s War and Heaven’s Fall are intended to follow in 2012 and 2013.

David Goyer will also produce through his Phantom Four production comapny.
