Micmacs theatrical release expands
[ June 4, 2010; ] The latest surreal confectionary from supreme stylist Jean-Pierre Jeunet (fully titled Micmacs a Tire-Larigot ["Non-Stop Madness"] in its native France) receives a limited theatrical release from Sony Pictures classics, opening in New York on May 28, with engagements following on June 4 in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, and San Francisco.

McAvoy Is Prof. X For ‘First Class’
EW’s Hollywood Insider reports that James McAvoy (WANTED) has been cast as Charles Xaiver (Professor X) in 20th Century Fox’s X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.

Today’s Time Warner Investor’s meeting has provided some further genre tidbits.
THR’s Georg Szalai writes that Warner Bros. announced a December 16th, 2011 release for SHERLOCK HOLMES 2, a sequel to the Robert Downey Jr. starring vehicle.

The Hollywood Reporter says that The Cartoon Network is planning an animated Green Lantern series.
The article states that during a slide presentation for investors by Phil Kent (Chairman and CEO of Time Warner’s Turner Networks), a slide of Cartoon Network original programs included the title ‘GREEN LANTERN: The Animated Series’.
