Entertainment Daily points us to MyOuterSpace.com, a new social networking website launched by William Shatner (the original Captain Kirk in the old STAR TREK television series). Designed to help wanna-be sci-fi filmmakers gain experience, my Outer Space allows users to choose citizenship on one of six different planets, each geared toward a different artisitic talent. There are also six starships; each one is a virtual production company, with a project being made into a film. The home page features a message from Shatner, who states:

I will be monitoring all Starship projects, and reviewing each Captain’s Log, where progress will be recorded each step of the way.The Captains will seek out new talent on the various Planets to build a winning team. [...] so register now, participate and keep your eyes to the stars.
