Comedy director to remake Fright Night

Recycling some news from Variety, About.com tells us that director Craig Gillespie has come on board to direct a remake of FRIGHT NIGHT, the 1980s horror comedy about a kid who teams up with a horror-television host when a real, live (or, rather, undead) vampire moves in next door. Gillespie’s previous work consists mostly of comedies (MR. WOODCOCK, LARS AND THE REAL GIRL), which may or may not be an indication that the FRIGHT NIGHT remake will emphasize the humor that was a big part of the original.
