Not much exciting this week in the land of laserblast: only a handful of horror, fantasy, and science fiction titles are making their debut, including THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE, a science fiction romance starring Eric Bana. DANTE’S INFERNO is an anime adaptation of the classic poem, with separate episodes helmed by different directors. Television’s STARGATE SG-U 1.0 arrives on DVD and Blu-ray. As for new titles, there is the borderline effort A SERIOUS MAN, from the Coen Brothers, and the truly ridiculous MEGA-SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS, which is almost bad enough to be hysterically funny camp (almost).

As for older titles, we get a new Blu-ray release of THE PHANTOM, the disappointing superhero movie starring Billy Zane, and the giallo thriller BALDE OF THE RIPPER.
