The CW network has given a greenlight to VAMPIRE DIARIES, based on a series of books by L. J. Smith. The pilot, adapted by Kevin Williamson (SCREAM) and Julie Plec, is about a teen girl in a small town who falls in love with a vampire. Can you say TWILIGHT?
