When I saw this film at Shriekfest last October, I literally sat through the whole thing thinking, "I'm gonna walk out in the next five minutes." The way the film pandered to its audience (hey, it's a horror movie about a horror movie fan who gets to be in a horror movie - maybe it could happen to you!) was pretty pathetic. Even worse was the way it tried to earn good will from the horror websites by giving their correspondents cameos in the crowd scenes.

The only thing that kept me in my seat was watching Henriksen as the exploitation film producer. His suits, white hair, appearance and general demeanor lead me to suspect he was doing a reasonably on-target spoof of Roger Corman (rather as Gene Hackman sent up Charles Band in GET SHORTY).
