Thanks for the comment, Dan. I remember the museum story quite well - I used it in CFQ's Vincent Price cover story twenty years ago. Like almost all of Quarry's stories, it was very funny stuff.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Quarry when he started doing horror cons. In fact, at a Chiller Theatre Expo in NJ in the early '90s, I stayed up drinking til 3AM with Quarry, Fred Olen Ray, and Ingrid (COUNTESS DRACULA, THE VAMPIRE LOVERS) Pitt. Quarry told us about the time Vincent Price "took" Quarry to lunch at the London Museum of Fine Art while filming DR PHIBES RISES AGAIN, only to end up paying for both his and Price's meager meal in the museum's cafeteria himself! He'd only brought about a hundred COUNT YORGA stills with him to sign, and ran out on the first day of the show. Fortunately, other stills dealers knew he was attending, and had plenty to cover his needs. He really figured only about 100 or so people would be interested in his autograph. I think he signed thousands over the course of that weekend!
