Cybersurfing: A Grim Pinocchio
Fear.net has posted an interview with artist Gris Grimly, who illustrated version of Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchiois scheduled to become a stop-motion films, produced by the Jim Henson Company in association with Guillermo Del Toro (HELLBOY). Grimly, who is set to co-direct the film with animator Adam Parrish King, explains what his approach to the film would be:
[...] I want it to be for young adults and older – not really for kids but not really a hardcore horror film either. Some of my influences in stop motion are Jan Svankmajer and the Quay Brothers and a lot of European animators and animation from Prague.
Sounds interesting, but don’t hold your breath. The script is still in development, and once production starts, it could take three years to finish the time-consuming stop-motion.
