QUARANTINE (release date: October 10, 2008) is a remake of a Spanish film called [REC], which earned some buzz on the festival circuit, with its hand-held approach to horror (also seen in BLAIR WITCH, CLOVERFIELD, and most relevantly, DIARY OF THE DEAD). The story follows a television news camera crew doing a story on a local fire department. Responding to the call, they find the police on the scene, and it soon becomes apparent that something far worse than fire is afoot: the residents have been stricken by some kind of plague that turns them into zombies.
