Congratulations!! Great article! I think it accomplishes what GOOD movie criticism should: inspire viewers to get acquainted with the films you are reviewing. Also, is quite refreshing to read positive movie reviews without negative comparisons with other movies.

I would also second the recommendations for GINGER SNAPS and ROSEMARY'S BABY, and would recommend LA BELLE ET LA BETE (aka BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) by Cocteau over the silent PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, though the Andrew Lloyd Webber film version has surprisingly much to recommend it as well.
Additionally, De Palma's SISTERS has a significant feminist slant that has at times been much overlooked. Everyone from the cops to her own mother belittles Grace Collier (Jennifer Salt), an intrepid reporter seeking to find the truth of a murder she witnessed. Dominique and Danielle (both Margot Kidder in one of her finest performances) are conjoined twins, with one aggressive and one feminine and demure. Emile Breton (William Findley) tries to rid his wife of her domineering sister, rendering Danielle more submissive, but the patriarchal impulses in this film just lead to violence and disaster.
Still, you do make a sexist assumption in your listing right from the start. I know women who really enjoy wild and genuinely scary horror films. My own girl friend particularly loves having her neckline nibbled and finds vampire films in general very sexy. But for those who are looking for horror romances, you have provided a well-thought-out list of prime examples (though I doubt the squeamish will have much tolerance for DAY OF THE DEAD).
