BEDLAM: Horror Movie a Day takes a look at the Val Lewton Classic, part of a recent Turner Classic Movies marathon. Brian gets a little miffed that the film dissolves to a woodcut as a transitional device, which he deems “superfluous” - but the point, I think, is that the film’s screenplay was inspired by a series of woodcuts depicting life inside a primitive mental asylum.
