Opening Today: Doomsday

DOOMSDAY – the sci-fi action-thriller from writer-director Neil Marshall – opens today. Set 25 years in the future, after a plauge has decimated Scotland, the story follows an elite team that heads into the quarantined country, searching for the cure that has allowed some of the population to survive, creating a savage, brutal, primitive society that resents the outsiders who left them to die.

Unfortunately, Universal Pictures did not pre-screen the film for critics. This is never a good sign, but we enjoyed Marshall’s previous films, DOG SOLDIERS and THE DESCENT, enough to hope that DOOMSDAY will turn out equally good.
