The movie will be rated R and contain eight/nine episodes. Considering the quality of the previous HEAVY METAL film adaptations, I would have zero expectations for this project, were it not for Fincher’s involvement.

SAM RAIMI’S REALITY HORROR SHOW: Variety tells us that director Sam Raimi (THE EVIL DEAD, SPIDER-MAN) has been tapped by the CW network to create an unscripted horror-themed reality show, titled 13. The concept is to take thirteen contestants, put them in a situation reminiscent of an old horror film, and confront them with horrific challenges, knocking them off one by one. The show will probably debut this summer.

HORROR’S HERO: Plugging his upcoming appearance at the Monster-Mania Con X this weekend, actor Burce Campbell gives a brief interview talking about the appeal of his character Ash in the EVIL DEAD trilogy. Other guests at the con include Malcolm McDowell (HALLOWEEN), Corey Feldman (LOST BOYS), Zach Galligan (GREMLINS), Heather Langenkamp (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET), and Keith David and Roddy Piper (THEY LIVE). There will also be a tribute to the late Ben Chapman, who played the title role in THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954). The cn takes place at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
