Box Office: Revised
That President’s Day holiday had a significant impact on the box office, allowing several films to significantly increase their revenues, resulting in some changes in the ranking of titles since we posted this yesterday.
JUMPER remained at #1, reaching $31.7-million over the four-day weekend. With the extra revenues from opening on Thursday, the film has reached a five-day total of $38.33-million.
THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES had been at #3 on Sunday, but with its Monday earnings its climbed to #2, surpassing STEP UP 2 THE STREETS. The film took in $24.47-million from Friday to Monday. Like JUMPER, it opened early on Thursday, yielding a five-day total of $26.78-million.
The extra day did little good for THE EYE. The film had been ranked #11 yesterday. After Monday’s revenues were counted, it had slipped to #12 (behind THERE WILL BE BLOOD), with $3.61-million for the weekend and a three-week total of $26.76-million.
