Fantasy Worldwide Film Festival
The Fantasy Worldwide Film Festival, which runs from December 4 through 8 in Toronto, has announced its schedule for this year.
Feature films include:
- Expiration Date / USA / 2006 / A black comedy about Charlie Silvercloud III, whose father and grandfather were killed by milk trucks on their 25 th birthdays… and Charlie is about to turn 25. He has accepted his fate and is going about shopping for caskets and returning his library books when he meets a girl who won’t let him die in peace. This multiple award-winning film has been very popular at international film festivals, and acclaimed “A Harold and Maude for our times” by Cinema Circle.
- Sintra’s Road / Portugal / 2007 / Summer of 1870. Two writers, Eso de Queroz and Ramalho Ortegao decide to write a four-handed whodunit novel for the daily newspaper. Suddenly, the whole society is alarmed by the story and the fictional events seem to somehow be true.
- Extended Play / Greece / 2006 / Tassos is jealous… very jealous! But his is also very… dead. He returns to earth, invisible and incorporeal, with one thought – to win his girl back. He has been given a total of 5 minutes grace by God, an extended play, to turn everything upside down in real life. A comedy of mistakes and jealousy incurable even after death. This supernatural comedy was number 1 at the Greek box office in 2006.
- The Cream (La Crème) / France / 2007 / On Christmas, one of the gifts Francois Mangin receives is a small jar of cream which makes whoever uses it… famous! His life is about to change… and so is his fate.
- RH+, The Vampire of Seville / Spain / 2007 / Don Manuel Malasangre and his peculiar family of vampires meet some aliens, swindlers, building speculators and the New York Vampire Union. Filled with adventure, charisma and unmatched humour, this animated comedy is one of a kind!
