Another drive down the “Lost Highway”

According to ESplatter.Com, the long-awaited widescreen DVD of David Lynch’s 1997 masterpiece LOST HIGHWAY will be released on March 25, 2008. The film was released on home video in VHS and laserdisc formats, but the only DVD release has been a Region 2 disc. If memory serves, when co-writer Barry Gifford appeared after the screening of the film last year, he said that the DVD ready to go, but something was holding it up, perhaps legal issues. (Don’t quote me on this - I’ll have to dig up my notes to confirm or contradict my hazy memory.)

  1. There is a region 1 DVD release, but it’s a full-screen version.

  2. I stand corrected. There is - or was - a Region 1 pan-and-scan DVD. It is now out of print.
