Rob Zombie will be directing a remake of “C.H.U.D.” for Dimension. … Guillermo del Toro is planning a third film in his Spanish Civil War horror trilogy which began with “The Devil’s Backbone” and continued with “Pan’s Labyrinth.” It’s going to be called “3993″ and “Orphanage” scribe Sergio Sánchez is writing.

At AFM, First Look picked up the “Day of the Dead” remake and plans to release it to 500 screens only. … Producer Tony Dido is planning a remake of “Spider Baby,” with Sid Haig returning in a new role and Jack Hill executive producing, along with a sequel to Tobe Hooper’s “Toolbox Murders” remake he produced a few years back.

Now the latest is that Rob Zombie is not directing a “C.H.U.D.” remake. He’d been thinking about it but has opted to work on something else. …
