harrypotter-gift-set.jpgWarner Home Video will be stuffing Harry Potter DVDs into stores in time for you to stuff them into your Christmas stockings. HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX is scheduled for December 11 as a stand-alone title; along with it there will be a new Harry Potter 1-5 Limited Edition Giftset that will combine the most recent film in the franchise with its successful predecessors.

ORDER OF THE PHOENIX will be available on single-disc DVD in widescreen and full screen versions; a two-disc special edition will be loaded with bonus features. There will also be an HD/DVD combo and a Blu-ray disc.

The two-disc Special Edition bonus material will include Additional Scenes, “Trailing Tonks” (a set tour with actress Nat Tena), “Harry Potter and the Magic of Editing,” an A&E documentary, and ROM FEATURES. To this the HD DVD will add “In Movie Experience” (Dumbledore’s Army sharing memorable moments) and some web-enabled features that allow you to download images and ringtones. The Blu-ray disc will include the DVD bonus materials plus “Focus Points,” a series of making-of featurettes.

The Limited Edition Gift Set will offer all five POTTER films in two-disc special editions, plus two bonus discs with games and over three hours of extra features. The set will be available in DVD, HD/DVD, and Blu-ray; this will be the first time the prevous four POTTER films are available in the new high-definition formats.

There will also be a Gift Set version of the ORDER OF THE PHOENIX DVD, which will include the new bonus discs, a collection of five souvenir metal bookmarks, and four packages of trading cards. Consequently, you will not need to purchase the entire 12-disc set just to get these extra bonus materials - a not insignificatn consideration, if you already own disc of the previous four films.
