Sisters set visit

Some stories do not need to be told, but Access Journalism sure pays off.

Casie in point: Sci Fi wire has posted a brief item describing a visit to the Vancouver, Canada sets for A TALE OF TWO SISTERS, the remake of the 2004 South Korean ghost story. There is little if any news value in the piece, which exists almost pretty much to let us know that Sci Fi Wire got access to the set. In exchange, I am sure we will be seeing lots of favorable coverage of the film in the future.

Of course, the story of making this particular film is not one that particularly needs to be reported in detail; based on lessons learned from recent history, you can pretty much write the article in your own mind, with only a little imagination. It goes something like this:

Hollywood found a well-regarded Asian ghost story, and they copied it with an English-language cast and bigger production values.

There. Now let’s move on to something else.
