Kidman to remake foreign horror film

Horror is supposedly dead in Hollywood, but nothing will stop Tinseltown from churning out remakes. Case in point: Nicole Kidman to produce and star in an English-language version of AL FINAL DEL ESPECTRO for Universal Pictures. Juan Felip Orozco, director of the Colombian horror film, will direct the remake, which is to be scripted by Fernley Phillips (THE NUMBER 23). Story has Kidman as a character who sequesters herself in her apartment (a la Catherine Denueve in REPULSION), where she becomes aware of a spirit.

Kidman’s production partners on the project, Roy Lee and Doug Davison, are fast becoming the Remake Kings. Their credits include THE INVASION (a remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS with Kidman), THE EYE (with Jessica Alba), and A TALE OF TWO SISTERS.
