WB goes on big screen “Quest”

Warner Brothers, the studio that is already producing a live-action film of SPEED RACER, have selected Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter to perform similar duties on JOHNNY QUEST, the 1964 animated adventure series. The story revolved around the titular boy and his scientist father; along tough guy Roger “Race” Bannon, Johnny’s Indian-born adoptive brother Hadji, and their dog Bandit, the solved mysteries on a weekly basis, usually involving mad scientists and monsters. Despite the cartoon trappings, the tone suggested a James Bond-style adventure. Spin-offs include THE REAL ADVENTURES OF JOHNNY QUEST, which aired on Cartoon Network in the ’80s and ’90s, and a DC comic book.
