This new edition features several bonus features, some ported from previous DVD releases, some new. There is an audio commentary by director Jan De Bont and effects supervisor Stefen Fangmeier; a new half-hour documentary, &#8220;Chasing the Storm: Twister Revisted;&#8221; a &#8220;Making of Twister&#8221; featurette, and another called &#8220;Anatomy of a Twister;&#8221; the History Channel documentary &#8220;Nature Tech: Tornadoes;&#8221; two trailers; and a music video for the Van Halen song heard on the soundtrack, &#8220;Human Being.&#8221; It&#8217;s no secret that this film was not strong on plot; its effectiveness derived almost totally from the excitement of the spectacular action, achieved with some stunning special effects. The impact was considerably diminished on home video; even previous releases on laserdisc and DVD did not quite live up to the theatrical experience.
